ABSTRACT:
This 5 page report discusses the what is said and how it is said, the linguistic conventions, that are able to manipulate the discourse of a specific community. The example of a discourse community presented in this report is that of the realm of military intelligence. In terms of an analysis of the various components that directly impact the larger realities of the relationships between community and specific linguistic discourse, one must be able to differentiate between what is said, how it is said, and what the intended meaning actually is.
